Amid huge expectations and excitement, a film on the real and reel life of a Legendary actress, Savitri, ‘Mahanati’ has released across the globe. Let’s see, “how far Mahanati has become successful in meeting the expectations of movie lovers?”

Story:

Quite natural, being a biopic, it unfolds all corners of Legend, Savitri’ life. What everyone thinks of this biopic is how the director Nag Ashwin takes us into the life of Savitri in ‘Mahanati’ biopic and how he ends up. Besides, the director excluded any controversies in Savitri’s life or not to be known. The story of Mahanati starts unfolding when a journalist named ‘Madhuravani’ starts collecting more information to make a story on the entire real and reel life of Savitri who was in the coma.

Simply to tell, Mahanati is the rise and fall of a Legend, Savitri, whose name became the synonym for ‘Mahanati’ tag and whose performance has been set as a measurement to check any lead actress’ talent.

Artists Performance:

Coming to the artists' performance, each and everyone has done their justification for their respective roles and cameos. In this epic biopic, each and every role is epic and all the actors brought dignity to the respective roles which they are meant to play for.

In Mahanati, three actors including Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salman, and Samantha deserves a huge round of applause for their brilliant performance. It is very challenging and tough to portray, Legend Savitri onscreen. It is universal fact that no one could reprise Legend Savitri on screen and if the actress performs a tiny percent in Savitri’s talent is like the greatest achievement. Now the same is enjoying by Keerthy Suresh.

The actress who has successfully catch the glimpses of Mahanati Savitri’s mannerisms in few rasas of acting has earned huge respect from all the movie lovers. Right from the common man to the Maverick director, SS Rajamouli has appreciated her performance as Legend Savitri. And it is quite common that those golden era people who live in this digital era won’t love to watch anyone in Savitri’s role. That much impact she has created and till no one has come to take her place. Legend Savitri is the true ‘Chiranjeevi’ by her everlasting glory as the performer.

The actress, Keerthy Suresh has played with Savitri’s role with much honesty and dedication. And now whatever the compliments earning because of her honest portrayal of Savitri not because the actress has neither overshadowed nor lived under the skin of Legendary actress.

Secondly, as Gemini Ganeshan, this talented handsome actor, Dulquer Salman reigns the hearts. He literally lived in that role and performed terrifically. While unfolding negative shades, the actor casts his spell on everyone in such a way that the original Gemini Ganeshan won’t perform better like Dulquer in Mahanati. With his spellbinding performance, he turned Baahubali director Rajamouli into his fan. Both Keerthy and Dulquer are the two greatest things happen to Mahanati.

In journalist role, Samantha played nicely and neatly. Especially she enthralls everyone with her performance during the climax. And everyone gets shocked by her talent. Mahanati unfolds another dimension of her acting skills post-Rangasthalam.

Technical Aspects:

Technically, Mahanati is brilliant. In Mahanati, the first credit goes to the director Nag Ashwin for roping in some incredible talents and utilized their talents in a perfect way. Later Nag Ashwin, the DOP Dani Sanchez-Lopez has depicted the vision of the director in a mesmerizing way. 

The way he used the colors to depict golden era is superb. Through his skills, it is not an exaggeration, he nicely made everyone to hook to the content without giving any chance of second thoughts to the audience to roam here and there in thoughts. The costumes and the sets are amazing. Each and every department is fully loaded with passion and commitment. And everything will be clearly visible in Mahanati. The production values and the music of Mickey J Meyer. Everything is a gem in Mahanati.

Conclusion:

As said above, Hats off! To the director Nag Ashwin for his gutsy decision to make a film on Legend Savitri. He proved with his talent that he has not only guts but also fire in him to prove his passion and undying love for cinema. 

Despite the second half of film seems dragged due to the heavy emotional quotient, which is excusable. The director who unfolds core portions of Savitri in reel and real life seems left some portions with an intention to keep his film from the controversy.

Anyway, Mahanati a must watch the film at least once. Very few films, which could watch without considering reviews and ratings.
