Akash Puri has been wanting to become a hero ever since he was a kind. His dream has come true in the form of Mehbooba which has released today. Read on to see how the film turns out to be.
Story:
The story is based on the lives of Roshan and Afreen who are from India and Pakistan. They have their own stories but cupid strikes when they come to know that they are lovers from their previous births. This lands them in huge problems from the countries. The crux of the story is as to how these eternal lovers find their own way to reunite again in this birth.
Performances:
Akash Puri is the only savior of the film as he is good in what he was offered. He looks nice in the emotional department and manages most of the film well. Neha Shetty is nice but she has nothing much to do except weep in the film. Villain Vishnu Reddy is very good and does his part sincerely. Murali Sharma is overshadowed by his wife Leena Yadav. Shayaji Shinde is good as hero's father and rest of the performances are below par
Technicalities:
The film is a bore fest as Puri tries to do something new. He adds the India-Pakistan thinking that he will get good applause if he bad mouth the neighboring country. But things fall apart as his narration is weak and has no novelty at all. Background score is hideous and has nothing much but loud voice of religious prayers. The second half is a mess as India-Pakistan border is shown in a clumsy note.
The joke of the movie is when Akash Puri tries to break the lock of the border gate with a stone. Such is the atrocity of the film. Nothing works in this film which has a dull love story.
What clicks:
Akash Puri
What Flops :
Narration
Second half
No feel in love story
Horrible Climax
Overall Analysis:
Time and again, Puri has been failing to deliver with his films. The trailer of Mehbooba showed some promise but as a film, it has bombed in a big way. The love story has no feel, no punch as Puri films have and there is nothing which we can boast about. It will only be remembered for the debut as Akash who is the sole hero who saves the film to an extent.
