SS Thaman is the music composer and Mr Majnu is releasing across the globe today. BVSN Prasad is the producer and here is the complete review of Mr Majnu:
Story:
Akhil Akkineni steps into a tailor made role as Vicky in the movie. He is a playboy who prefers to date girls. Nikky (Nidhhi Agerwal) is a different girl who follows traditional paths and sticks to marriage. The duo meet in an Indian wedding and get attracted towards each other. Nikky proposes to Vicky but he prefers to date her. The rest of Mr Majnu is all about what happens next. Watch Mr Majnu to know about the entire plot.
Analysis:
The first half of Mr Majnu happens in a smooth manner and is laced with right amounts of romance, love, family drama and entertainment. The cinematography work along with the music and background score stand out in the film. Akhil and Nidhhi delivers some decent performances throughout and the entertainment looks decent. The songs and the interval episodes are the strengths of Mr Majnu's first half.
Mr Majnu also starts on a decent note in the second half. Soon the film dips down completely and turns predictable because of the boring stuff. The songs look decent but the dragged episodes leave the audience irritated. The climax looks predictable and makes no impact. Mr Majnu second half misses the feel and emotional connect that is need for such a film.
Performances:
Akhil Akkineni who is known to be a good performer delivers out his best in all the aspects. His screen presence and dance moves should have a special mention. Nidhhi Agerwal too shines in her assignment and she looked perfect as Nikky. Rao Ramesh, Naga Babu, Priyadarshi and Hyper Adi have been quite supportive and excelled. All the other actors are best picked and they performed well.
Mr Majnu has a predictable story. The screenplay and dialogues have been just ok. SS Thaman is the major highlight of the film with his music and background score. The cinematography work should be specially appreciated and the production values look grand enough. Venky Atluri and his team delivered a decent product.
Verdict:
Mr Majnu falls short of the expectations because of the second half which is dragged and completely predictable.
