The Mumbai city has witnessed a heavy rainfall ever in a decade. In just 48hrs, 550mm rainfall is registered in the city, which is normally an average rainfall of entire June. But in a couple of days, it has downpoured like cats and dogs.
The Government of Maharashtra has declared a public holiday in Mumbai today, for the safety of Mumbai city & its citizens, in wake of the very heavy rainfall forecast by IMD. And also predicting 200mm or more rain in the coming days, especially in between 3rd July-5th July.
In some suburbs, rain is subsided and the BMC Mumbai is working day and night to clear the clogged areas. Due to heavy intermittent rains, many suburbs in Mumbai, bus stations and railway stations are submerged.
